The water exhibits a glassy yet rippled appearance, reflecting the surrounding buildings and sky while small ripples create movement and texture across the surface.

The canal is bordered by mature trees and shrubs that create an important green corridor within the urban environment of Queen's Park and Paddington. The vegetation provides habitat for wildlife, helps stabilise the canal banks, and improves the visual quality of the area

The canal corridor contains a mixture of mature waterside trees, shrubs, and herbaceous vegetation. A prominent willow-like tree overhangs the water, providing shade and habitat.

Although the canal is heavily influenced by surrounding residential development, the remaining vegetation contributes significantly to local biodiversity and urban sustainability.

The strong sunlight creates reflections on the canal surface, improving the visual quality of the area and making the waterfront more attractive. However, increased sunlight exposure may also raise water temperatures and encourage algal growth, demonstrating the balance between environmental quality and urban development.
